What Extra Help is available to me?

Trust members enrolled in Medicare can qualify for Extra Help to save on Medicare Part D prescription drug co-payment costs. The Extra Help significantly reduces the co-payments costs that you owe for each prescription. To qualify for the Extra Help, a Trust member must::

  • be eligible for Medicare,
  • meet resource and income limits, and
  • reside in one of the 50 States or the District of Columbia.

Many Trust members qualify for these substantial savings and don’t even realize it!

Why should I apply for Extra Help?

The Extra Help benefit keeps your money where it belongs - in your pocket! Medicare Part D prescription drug co-payments are expensive. Trust members may pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars every year on these co-payments. Extra Help enrollment will save Trust members from having to pay most of these costs. In addition to saving you money on co-payment costs, Extra Help also:

  • Provides a continuous special enrollment period to allow members to switch Part D plans at anytime,
  • Facilitates Part D enrollment (for members not already enrolled in Part D), and
  • Eliminates the Medicare Part D late enrollment penalty.
